appointed Msgr. Alejandro Cifres Gimenez as office head in the
Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith. Msgr. Alejandro Cifres
Gimenez was previously a study assistant in the same dicastery.

appointed Maria de Lurdes Correia Fernandes, professor in the faculty
of letters and vice rector of the University of Porto, Portugal, as a
member of the Pontifical Committee of Historical Sciences.
